  • Is the IJTL an Accredited Journal?

    The IJTL is listed on DHET (since 2014) and indexed by WoS (since 2021).

  • What is the role of the Editorial Board?

    The Journal invites academics of good standing to be on the Board for a period of 4 years. The Journal follows the stipulations of ASSAf on the role and function of a journal editorial board: LINK

  • What is the role of the Journal Editorial Team?

    The Managing Editor and the Editor in Chief is responsible for all aspect of managing of the journal

  • Who are reviewers or can be reviewers?

    National and international academics with research experience and sound subject knowledge and academic writing acumen with the broad discipline of teaching and learning. 

  • How does the review process work?

    Double-blind peer review process is applied for all requests to publish within the journal. 

  • Do IIE employees get preferential treatment at the IJTL?

    No – the same rules and editorial policies apply. The IJTL follows the required DHET rules on publication in which no more than 25% of institutional staff may publishing in an issue of the journal. 

  • How often does IJTL publishes journal issues?

    The IJTL publishes two issues a year - around April/May and October/November of each year. 

  • When and how can I submit a paper for review and publication?

    Call for Papers goes out on the official journal website and SABINET. 

    The Call for Papers are normally opened from September – November of each year for publication in the following academic year. 


  • How can I contact to get information on the IJTL?

  • What is the IJTL Impact factor?

    The IJTL obtained a 1.4 impact factor for the 2021 academic year.
